Mid-Year Assessments

Mid year assessments: January and early February bring mid year assessments in reading and math skills for our students. We take time out to evaluate how our teaching strategies have improved students’ understanding of basic skills. Once assessments are completed, we regroup and identify specific needs regarding remediation or enrichment activities. Some students need a little more practice while others are ready to move forward. Our classroom teacher helpers and teacher associates assist in both language arts and math classes to ensure support for each level of need. Home school communication is particularly important during this period as our parent-teacher teams come together and discuss helpful strategies for reinforcing skills in both settings.
